Third Sunday...still here. Has anyone lost a bet yet?

I'm pretty sure I could start collecting on some bets. It's our 3rd Sunday and we are still here, still breathing, and even managing a few laughs here and there.

Saturday was a pretty lazy day. After we got home from the airport, my stomach decided that we weren't going to be going anywhere for the rest of the day. Which was fine, really. It steadily poured all day, so we cuddled in bed, watched a movie, drank hot chocolate. Were bums, basically.

(Caden only brought three movies with him, so if you feel so inclined, he'd probably appreciate some kid movies.)

My friend Randi sent us kitchen stuff!!
Gracias, mi amiga!
Today, we got up early and headed back to Soriana to try to get things to make our apartment more homey. Pearl chauffeured us, and we took our time, wandering up and down the aisles. Didn't find anything, really, but it was still a good trip. Good company and great conversation. Bought a few more groceries. Got stuff to make stroganoff for dinner tonight. Stuff to bake chocolate chip cookies. Think that's what we are going to do tomorrow, along with going up to the school to get things ready for the rest of the week.

I still feel pretty rough. Throat is getting in on the party, and my neck is sore. Have no idea what any of that means, but we still managed to head downtown, to the coffee shop, to facetime and update this old thing. It's a three day weekend as Mexico celebrates its independence. And we live right in the middle of the city, so we hear everything. Marching bands, horns, church bells, bands, singers, fireworks, helicopters, applause....it's like it's actually inside our apartment.

As we walked to the cafe, I noticed a quite large police presence. It's going to probably get pretty rowdy this evening, and last into the wee hours, so we are going to call it a night and head home in a few. Here are some pictures of our walk:
